I've just switched from a '14 Octavia 2.0TDi to a' 69 Karoq Sportline 1.5tsi (both DSG). One d ifference I've noticed is with the start/stop feature. On the Octavia, it would only stop the engine if the brake was fully depressed, but the Karoq doesn't seem to be so easily fooled, and the engine stops whenever the car comes to a stop, regardless of how much force is on the brake pedal.
It isn't just the power consumed from the starter motor on the stop / start - don't forget all your other ancillaries are still running (dashboard / lights / wipers / blowers etc etc) - These will easily add up to as much as it takes to start the engine over say 20-30 seconds of use.
wak please remember that VW Group change the way the system worked so some of the old codes no longer work (via the app process) but you should be able to do it manually if somebody had worked out the answer. While there is not an app according to the SKODA Ocatvia thread the new 2017 cars you can still do a manual fix to turn off stop start.

I had it on my old manual Hyundai i40, which was fine as the engine only stopped when it was in neutral with my foot off the clutch, but it's the only thing I really don't like about my Superb L&K. Try deactivating it & reactivating it as well, sometimes the systems get themselves in a knot, another solution, maybe to disconnect the battery and leave it off for a good 10-30 minutes to allow the current to dissipate and then do a complete reset of the cars systems.
